Juvenile Offender Monitoring Program

Juvenile Offender Monitoring Program (JOMP) is an intense pre-adjudication, Sheriff's Office/FINS/Court-mandated program. Juvenile offenders assigned to the program are monitored via short-term or extended supervision by Sergeant Roanne Sampson of the Juvenile Justice Division. Short-Term
As a condition of bond, the judge may order a juvenile to be released to a parent / guardian when arrested. The juvenile will be intensely supervised until the court hearing is held. The maximum length of short-term supervision is three months.Extended Supervision
As an alternative to prosecution / adjudication, the judge may want a juvenile to be intensely supervised for a longer period of time documented in an Informal Adjustment Agreement. The maximum length of extended supervision is six months. The program is voluntary on the part of the juvenile.Qualifications
To qualify for this program, the offender must meet all the following requirements: - Male or female ages 11 - 16
- Committed Status Offenses/FINS
- Misdemeanor Offenses
- Referred to JOMP prior to adjudication
Expectations
In addition to monitoring behavior via school, family, and acquaintances, the juvenile and his or her parent/guardian must contact Creative Family Solutions for an assessment and possible counseling. Additionally, juveniles attend Educational Tours to Juvenile Detention Centers, Adult Correctional Facilities, Educational Institutions, and sit in on Court Sessions.Judges are provided monthly reports on the juvenile's progress in the program.
