Personal Life
Captain Renee Kinler has been a resident of St. Charles Parish for over 40 years and recently moved to Tangipahoa Parish. She still has many connections through friends and family who are members of the St. Charles Parish community.  Captain Renee Kinler is the daughter of retired St. Charles Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Olga Fourroux (deceased) and she is the mother of two children, Landon and Sydney.  
Professional Service
 Captain Kinler began her law enforcement career with St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in 1988, assigned to the Criminal Records Division. From 1990 – 1992 she continued her career working in the 911/Communications Center.  In 1992, Kinler graduated from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Regional Louisiana POST Academy. From 1992 – 1996 Kinler worked in the Patrol Division starting as a deputy and earning the rank of Corporal. In 1996, Captain Kinler became a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Bureau and earned the rank of Detective Sergeant.  In 2008, Kinler was promoted to Lieutenant over the Juvenile Investigations Division.  In 2014, Kinler was assigned as the Lieutenant to the Crime Victim’s Assistance Division, which falls under the Special Services Division.  In 2019, Kinler was promoted to Captain over the Special Services Division and remains in that capacity to date..

Education & Training
 Captain Renee Kinler graduated from Hahnville High School in 1989.  Kinler pursued her career in law enforcement and graduated from the Louisiana Post Academy inn 1992.  Captain Kinler continued her law enforcement journey by becoming a 2019 graduate of the National Command and Staff College (Session 4).

Captain Kinler’s skills include handling the aftermath of Domestic violence such as victims with Protective Orders, mental health services, shelter, reparations and court process.  Her skills include hostage negotiations, forensic interviewing of children, interview and interrogation, homicide, rape, burglary, theft, financial crime, sex crime investigations, communications, record keeping, juvenile investigations and undercover narcotics.
