Personal Life
Captain Bostick and his wife Vicki reside in Destrehan, Louisiana. Together, they are the parents of three children and have five grandchildren..
Professional Service
Captain Bostick’s law enforcement career spans over 44 years, which includes serving as a police officer and deputy sheriff.
In 1978, Captain Bostick joined the New Orleans Police Department, first as a Reserve Officer and then as a full-time officer, where he served as a patrol officer after completion of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Reserve and regular Police Academy. He also served as a Field Training Officer, Narcotics Detective, Rape Investigations Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant in Rape Investigations with the NOPD until 1990. He then practiced Maritime Law as an attorney in New Orleans for 22 years.
Service in St. Charles Parish
After moving to St. Charles Parish in 1989, Captain Bostick joined the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Reserves in 2008 completing the Reserve Academy. In 2012, Captain Bostick joined the SCSO as a full-time deputy completing the regular Training Academy and serving as a Correctional Officer, Special Operations Officer in Corrections, Legal Liaison, Legal Counsel, certified Academy Instructor, Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, Public Safety and Rescue Diver and now Director of Legal and Business Affairs. Captain Bostick rose to the rank of Captain in the Executive Office.
Sheriff Greg Champagne appointed Captain Bostick as the Director of Business and Legal Affairs in 2016. Captain Bostick is now the commander of the Civil Department of the Sheriff’s Office and serves as in-house legal counsel.
Education & Training
A 1984 cum laude graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, Captain Bostick earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1990. He is now licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court. He has attended numerous training courses including the F.B.I. Hostage Negotiation course, the Public Agency Training Counsel Hostage Negotiator course Phase I-III, the F.B.I. and P.O.S.T. Law Enforcement Instructor courses, Public Safety and Rescue Diver courses.
