St. Charles Parish 2024 UCR Crime Statistics
2024 Annual UCR Crime Statistics Report - Achievement of the Second Lowest Crime Rate in 28 Years
Sheriff Greg Champagne is pleased to announce that 2024 marked the second-lowest crime rate in 28 years for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. Although there was a slight increase in crime during 2024, it remains the second-best year overall for crime reduction. Notably, there was a significant decrease in homicides, with only one reported this year. The individual arrested in connection with the homicide is currently in jail, awaiting trial for second-degree murder after the death of his domestic partner. This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our law enforcement agency, community organizations, and the citizens of St. Charles Parish.
As we celebrate this achievement, we must remember that ongoing vigilance and collaboration are vital for maintaining and enhancing our safety. Thank you to the dedicated men and women of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office who have contributed to this remarkable success. Let us continue working together toward a safer community for everyone.
Residents are encouraged to continue to work with the sheriff's office and the local community. Please report any suspicious behavior or criminal activity and any individuals involved. Sheriff Champagne emphasizes the importance of remaining vigilant and urges residents not to become complacent. Always stay alert, and make sure your property and belongings are locked and secure.
